Samstag 0.30 Uhr im Rio, Berlins derzeitigem Place to be. Eine schweisstreibende Mischung aus House- und Detroittunes, jeder Menge verschollen geglaubter Tanzmonster und frische Houseware schaukelt sich und die Crowd mächtig auf. Plötzlich steht MC Jack Migger auf der Bühne und setzt mit seiner Hip House Live-Action noch richtig einen drauf. Unerwartete Szenen spielen sich ab: Groupies kreischen, Hände fliegen in die Luft und Männer lassen die Hüften kreisen. Schweiss rinnt überall auch bei den Jungs vom Goldenen Westen, die hinter ihren Rechnern für die passenden visuellen Reize sorgen.
Wer sind diese Jungs, die in letzter Zeit mit ihren Produktionen für ordentlich frischen Wind sorgen?! „Hormony“ auf Compost und „Sweat/ Sunshine Fu*k“beim Sonarkollektiv ( ... Bei anfänglichem HipHop Tempo treten einem die zwei so dermaßen zwischen die Beine und Richtung Magengegend, daß einem nicht viel übrig bleibt, als sich wohlwollend zu fügen. Großartig. / Groove Mai 05) laufen bei Jazzanova, Gilles Peterson, Blackstrobe, den Glimmer Twins, Tiefschwarz Laurent Garnier, Peter Kruder und Carl Craig auf heavy rotation. Letzterer hat Sweat sogar für seine Fabric 25 Compilation lizensiert.

Arken are two fellas from Sweden, Elias Raam and Martin Hallberg. They hit the collective with this nice little EP. Our Nordic Scout and artist Forss draw our attention to Arken. Arken 10 is a deep house groover, typical for scandinavia, simple & honest.
Tree Bells is a slow House tune (almost midtempo), which turns into a jazz influenced groover. They teamed up with Mattias Almlund for this. Vessel is, again, house track, which is very percussive and almost minimal. Altogether a nice little EP from an interesting procuder duo. We hope you share our view.

Carl Borg is from Sweden and Forss' live partner. Together they present us the Forss' sound via laptop live on stage. Therefore they are sharing the same musical roots and foundations. You will be able to catch 5 of his slo-mo drum & bass/hip hop tunes with clicks and cuts, but always warm and groovy on this EP. Highly recommendable and definitely not the only release of Mr. Borg.

There is not much to say about Jazzanova that people don´t already know. They run Sonarkollektiv and have been active for many years, creating their own style of music. This one sided 12" is a bootleg and made to promote the next Jazzanova / the remixes 2002-2005 CD.
